Handcrafted Leather
With love, from Ukraine
We design every leather item personally, seeking to find solutions to knitting storage and organization problems that we ourselves face. We look to you, our customers and fellow makers, for ideas and suggestions for improvements. We welcome you to share your thoughts with us anytime!
Our leather is a by-product of food prodution farms in Ukraine and Italy. We select the finest soft genuine leather for its sought-after aging qualities, like the characteristic caramelization of the colour, a unique patina giving it a sense of history and character. You'll love
the way the velvety texture feels to the touch.
Each item is handmade with love by our small leather crafts studio in Ukraine. We work closely with our leather makers and incorporate their ideas and expertise. We prototype, test and iterate until we land on the final product and go 'aahhhhhh!'. We hope that you have the same reaction when you receive your next piece.
Our studio started with a young couple, making leather pieces in their parents' basement. It has now grown to an 80+ strong team, with the vast majority working exclusively on T&M products. We are proud to support the resilient, hard-working people of Ukraine.
Behind the Scenes
How It's Made
These lovely talented folks have faced so much hardship. When the war broke out, they repurposed their leather studio into a Molotov cocktail production factory. They teamed up with other local small businesses to provide aid and refuge to people fleeing conflict from the East.
Their studio has been raided by the army to draft our workers. Countless power outages, closed airspace, suppliers' warehouses destroyed, the challenges have been many. But they're still here, working, thanks to you.
When you purchase any of our leather accessories, you are enabling a lot of hardworking folks to be able to support their families during a very difficult time.
More About Our Products
Our baskets are crafted by a fellow momtrepreneur in Turkey. Each one is hand-stitched in her home studio and adorned with our signature leather or cork tag, which we send from Ukraine and Portugal.
Our maple wood items are handmade by a husband and wife duo in Ontario, Canada. Glenn learned woodworking from his grandfather, while Heather does the finishing touches and takes on all the admin work. Our pieces often take up more space in their home than they'd like... - sorry and thank you!
Our worsted weight Natur yarn is hand-dyed by Stephanie, owner of Scrumptiouspurl self-striping yarns, our operations manager, and - Sam's mom! She has a small studio next door to our office in St-Lambert, Quebec.
Our cork products are made by Portuguese artisans using high quality local PETA-approved cork.
Cork harvesting is a ritual, carried out by specialists as it takes a lot of experience and manual skill to harvest without harming the tree, which can continue producing cork for up to 150 years. Cork is also recyclable and biodegradable.
