Keep your project gently on track with these beautifully tactile Row Counters, thoughtfully chosen for the Thread & Maple making space and handcrafted in the USA by a fellow mom-entrepreneur. Made from rich walnut with smooth cherry wheels for natural contrast and warmth, each piece is designed, cut, sanded, and finished in her home studio with care you can truly feel.

Each counter tracks up to 99 rows—or up to 198 when doubled—making them as practical as they are beautiful. The wheels glide effortlessly when turned, yet can be gently adjusted to the perfect level of resistance, so they won’t shift on their own if the counter is dropped or jostled in your bag.

The double counter is ideal for more intricate patterns, allowing you to track both rows and repeats so you can settle into your stitching with confidence. The single counter offers a wonderfully compact option, slipping easily into a Notions Zip or Catch-All page and making a perfect companion for on-the-go making. For a special touch, the customized maple leaf counter adds a bit of Thread & Maple personality—something playful and uniquely yours to bring along to retreats, road trips, or wherever your project takes you.

Beautiful, practical, and quietly satisfying to use, these counters are designed to support your rhythm rather than interrupt it—an everyday tool that feels just as intentional as the work you’re creating. They’re lovingly handmade by Sophia of Making Treasures, whose thoughtful craftsmanship and attention to detail shine through in every piece.

When yarn labels are missing—or when you’re working with handspun, hand-dyed, or leftover yarn—a wraps per inch gauge helps you identify the yarn’s weight and thickness with confidence.

This compact tool lets you identify yarn weight in two simple ways. Wrap your yarn neatly around the inch-wide notch end to end and count the wraps to determine wraps per inch (WPI). Or, lay the yarn into the etched grooves to see which standard yarn weight it corresponds to—from lace through fingering, sport, DK, worsted, aran, bulky, and super bulky.

Finished with a small, unclaspable ball chain, it’s easy to clip onto a project bag for quick access—perfect for yarn shopping, stash sorting, and planning on the go.

Whether you’re sorting your stash or matching yarn to a pattern, this tool helps you identify yarn weight and choose a needle size that will give you the correct gauge—even when the label is gone.

Lightweight and easy to tuck into a project bag, it’s a practical addition to any knitter’s, crocheter’s, weaver’s, or spinner’s toolkit.
